Rum Margarita Recipe
Tequila has a very distinct flavor due to the agave plant, and is an acquired taste that not everyone has the time to get used to. If tequila is a bit too strong for you, rum is a good substitute in most tequila-based drinks. The Rum Margarita is made from Don Q white rum, lime juice and triple sec, and served over ice in a margarita glass.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 oz White Rum (Don Q)
- 1/2 oz Triple Sec
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- Salt - to rim glass
- wedge Lime - for garnish
- Garnish: Lime, Salt
- Glass: Margarita Glass
Directions
- Rub a lime wedge over the rim of a chilled margarita glass, then dip into salt to coat the rim.
- Shake rum, triple sec and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker.
- Strain into the glass filled with ice, and garnish with a lime wedge.
