Tomato Basil Recipe
The Tomato Basil is a Brazilian-themed competitor to the classic Bloody Mary drink recipe. A red colored cocktail made from Leblon cachaca, triple sec, tomato juice, simple syrup, basil and club soda, and served in a salt-rimmed highball glass.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Cachaca (Leblon)
- 1/2 oz Triple Sec
- 4 oz Tomato Juice
- 1 tbsp Simple Syrup
- 5 leaves Basil
- Tomato - for garnish
- Club Soda
- Salt - to rim glass
- Garnish: Tomato
- Glass: Highball Glass
Directions
- Muddle basil and simple syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
- Add cachaca, triple sec, tomato juice and ice, and shake vigorously.
- Wet the rim of a highball glass and dip into salt to coat the rim.
- Pack the glass with crushed ice, then strain the drink into the glass.
- Top with club soda and garnish with a cherry or grape tomato.
